From 54 year olds to 20 year olds, 306 came together like never before at the BCBD this past weekend.
As a coach and owner of a CrossFit box, I don’t take lightly the importance of community. We preach it, we encourage it, and we live it. However sometimes our community goes through rough patches. But with the right motives in our hearts we push forward. Then moments like this past weekend come along and make it all worth it.
What I witnessed this past weekend was a strong communal presence amongst 306 members. Competitors, volunteers, supporters, 306 members were everywhere at all times. Everybody cheered for everyone. People supported each other, back rubs and high fives where continuously exchange.
From a performance stand point we did incredibly well. Nick and Dano secured a podium finish in the men’s open division. Charlie, Graham, Aaron Parker all won WOD’s. Throughout the weekend, 306 showcase our general physical preparedness met all challenges head on.
However all that is secondary to how close I felt everyone was. To me that’s the biggest win. A community that sticks together will only grow stronger in time.
To all 306 members, thank you for showing your communal spirit and representing 306 so well.
