Aaron Parker had to step down from competition as he received results from his x-ray confirming that he had fractured his C6 vertebra.
As our regional journey comes to end it offers a great time for self-reflection. At 306 we have built an incredibly supportive culture and we have done an exceptional job of developing athletes. I know this from feedback from many of our members who have trained elsewhere and have routinely commented on how they enjoy the 306 experience and how we run our classes. We had a very successful year athletically with an ever expanding trophy case and strong performances at: Sweat RX, BCBD, VO2MAX, and the Battle At the Border.
As the head coach I take our performance to heart. As such I cannot implement the same system and hope for a different result at Regionals next year. CF at the Regional level and beyond has truly developed into a elite level sport. One that takes years of training and development. Even then only a few can ever hope to achieve the podium. But I believe that with the right system we can help those who wish to achieve success in CF as a sport. As such we will be implementing a series of changes in the next few months to improve the 306 experience for everyone, and provide an avenue for all competitive CrossFitters to blossom.
The first change will be implemented immediately with the return of our Olympic lifting program. This will be done now on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-9:30. Saturday Olympic lifting will be removed for the time being.
In health,
Coach
