3 on 3 Predictions

3 on 3 Predictions!

With one week before the fourth annual 3 on 3 Throw down it is time to ponder what may happen next Saturday.    With three division, four preliminary WODs, a do or die semi-finals and an elimination quarter finals. Anything may and probably will happen.  So let’s take a look at each division and try and speculate on the final standings.

Scaled –

This division includes a wide range of demographics including team Gordon boasting Chris and Bruce in their 50’s and a group of teenagers lead by 14 year old Tori MacDonald and anchored by Jack Nash and Craig Kosmoka.  Will youth prevail over experience?  Team Podium or Bust lead by rec star athlete Josh Herman, and teammates Brandy Sokoloski, and Julius Villeneuva are looking poised and confident.  However late replacement to team Rowing Pains include Super Alpha Male Stu Cousins might be what that team needed to put in them in striking distance of the podium.

Coach’s Predictions –

1.     Podium or Bust – 306/Brio

2.     Bodies by Bacon – CFR

3.     Sunshine and Lollipops – Gas City

Intermediate –

15 teams are in this division, making it the most exciting and unpredictable.  Lots of hybrid teams will make team chemistry a potential factor for this throw down.  Strong Fit YXE will be competing in their first competition since forming Saskatoon’s latest affiliate and will no doubt look to impress.  Chad Brooks is coming all the way down from Lloydminster looking to lift all the weights!   Gas City and North Battleford will be strong contenders in this division.  306 has many entries, including last year defending champions Dead Weights. Sam Mitchell recovering from injury has partnered with last year’s podium finishers Brad Merkowsky and Wayne Dust, could they be the team to beat?   Or will the day belong to some rookies?  Two teams will be boasting new faces to the CrossFit scene, both incredibly talented.  Rookie Ben Nicholson has been rumoured to have beaten regional athlete Aaron Parker in a WOD, could he be the one to watch anchor his team to victory?  Or will a hybrid team of 306 and Synergy that includes all star rookies Evan Senko and Ryan Sutherland take the day?

Coach’s Predictions –

1.     Heroes for Hire – 306/Brio

2.     Sherry’s Stronger then us – Strong Fit Yxe

3.     Kathee’s Angels - 306

RX

Reebok 306 has never claimed the top prize at it’s own competition.  306 athletes have finished second twice, 2013 and 2015.  Could this be the year that Aaron Parker leads his team to victory?  With Synergy in the house you know that Tyler Siwak and Matt Bathgate will be looking to showcase their lifting prowess.  Jason Trinh with his multiple years of regional team experience may have something to say about it.   Top females Melissa Chatigny of Man Made and CFR’s Kaley Herman may prove to be aces that those teams need to win.

Coach’s Prediction –

1.     Team Reebok – 306/Ramsay

2.     Wives Permission – CFR

3.     Tri-Force - Synergy
