Have you ever seen kids inside the gym at 306? Whether they are participating in a class or simply playing around before or after a class, they are almost always the most high energy people in the building. With this in mind, Coach Elaina will be offering a CrossFit Kids program at 306!
CrossFit as a training methodology is defined as “constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity”. When a child plays in the backyard or on a playground, they are running, jumping and climbing. Three of the most basic and functional movement patterns for the human body to perform. However, when was the last time you saw someone outside of the CrossFit world perform any of those three movements? Let alone all three of them in the same time frame with an elevated heart rate. Children have this natural ability and have not had the opportunity to develop bad movement patterns. Why not keep them moving well, being fit and staying fully functional as they age and develop?
Our kids functional fitness program was created to help kids build healthy habits early in life. The program runs for one hour three times a week. In the program kids learn the importance of quality movement as they perform squats, push ups, sit-ups, box jumps, plank hold, basic lifts including presses, and lifting objects safely from the ground.
The hour flies by as kids play warm up games and our coaches develop fun and creative ways to teach the basics of fitness.
Classes will run on Mondays and Wednesdays and Fridays at 4:30pm. The program concludes at the end of the school year. You can join at anytime and your monthly renewal will be one month after your child's first class.
Your child must between the ages of 9-13.
