Well it's all done, or is it? After months of preparation a few selected members went to Vancouver last weekend to compete against the top Affiliates in Western Canada. How did we do? Incredibly well! Our team posted a third place finish in two WODs, and finished in an incredible 7th place overall. Now if we go into this a little further we can see that we are simply destined to keep climbing. How so? Well for starters our performances continued to improve from day 1 to day 3. On the Snatch ladder all three of our men hit personal best, by a lot! Brett "Game Time" Gerich, lifted over 200lbs for the first time ever, hit a 205 lbs Snatch. Ty aka "Thor", proved to the World including Dave Castro who was in attendance, that he is the real deal with a 225lbs power snatch, yep that's right Power Snatch. Aaron "Wonderkid" Parker after only two and half months of CrossFit, snatched a personal best of 165 lbs, and linked 12 Muscle Ups. Rebecca hit a record for total pull-ups in a WOD. Laura hit two Muscle-up in a WOD. Courtney snatched a solid 150, then performed 25 muscle ups, however she only received credit for 18. With a gym so new, and with so many of our athletes only crossfitting for so litte time, the future is incredibly bright.
Next stop on the competitive circuit is our very own Prairie Regional, followed by nationals in August. We will be represented by different athletes at all these competitions as we keep developing all our athletes and growing the depth of skill and experience within 306.
Thanks everyone for doing an incredible job of representing 306.
