306 hosted it's first ever Olympic Lifting camp this past weekend. We brought in Richard Gonsalves, who has recently qualified for the National Team with a lifting total of 312KG, yep that's a 140KG snatch and a 172KG C&J! Richard is coached by my old lifting coach Steve Sandor and has a keen eye and an incredibly ability to unstick athletes from current plateaus. And unstick he did, with about 30 athletes going through the camp over the last three days the athletes collectively hit well over 30PRs. That's an average of 1 PR per athlete.
Some notable performances included Ty.P C&J 265, from the hang no less, and followed that up with a 495 deadlift. Rob Lovelace added 18lbs to his snatch and hit a huge 210. Amanda continued her torrid streak and added 15lbs to her snatch with a 125lbs lift. Mel got 180 C&J, Brenden got a 210 C&J, which followed numerous other PRs he hit on the weekend. Jesse B, set the bar higher on the deadlifts with a monster 355 lift. Most athletes also improved their squats. Overall an outstanding weekend of hard work and huge step forwards.
Very special thanks to Richard for sharing his expertise with us.
Great work everyone.
